Craniosacral Therapy | Gentle, Trauma-Informed Nervous System Support
Most people who come in for craniosacral therapy aren’t looking for something new.
They’re usually at the point where what they’ve already tried stretching, mobility work, chiropractic, or massage tools, pushing through tension and it either isn’t working anymore, or feels like too much.
This is where craniosacral work is different.
What is Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, trauma-informed, somatic approach to bodywork that focuses on supporting the nervous system.
Instead of working on the body with pressure or intensity, the session works with the body, following subtle patterns of tension, holding, and release.
It’s quiet work. Minimal. But not passive.
Your body is actively reorganizing the entire time.
What happens during a session?
You remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on the table.
There is no oil, no deep pressure, and no need to tolerate discomfort.
Touch is light and intentional, often at the head, spine, or sacrum, though the session may move where your body needs attention.
There’s no set routine.
The work follows your system, not a protocol.
Many people notice:
a deep sense of settling
slower, fuller breathing
a quieting of mental activity
subtle shifts in areas that have felt stuck
Some people talk. Some don’t.
There’s nothing you need to do.
Trauma-informed, in practice
“Trauma-informed” has become a widely used term, but in this context, it’s very simple.
Nothing is forced.
There is no pushing through pain.
No expectation that your body should respond a certain way.
No need to override your own signals.
The session is paced to your nervous system, not the other way around.
You are not being “worked on.”
Your body is being listened to.
A somatic approach (what that actually means)
“Somatic” simply means working with the body as the entry point.
Not analyzing.
Not fixing from the outside.
But allowing the body to shift from within.
For many people, this is where change happens more easily, because the body is no longer being asked to brace, tolerate, or perform.
Who this work is for
Craniosacral Therapy can be especially supportive if you:
feel overwhelmed or overstimulated
are sensitive to pressure or intense bodywork
carry chronic tension that doesn’t fully resolve
feel “stuck” despite doing all the right things
are already doing therapy or inner work and want body-level support
simply want a quieter, more restorative experience
It’s also a good fit for people who have tried other approaches and are looking for something more subtle, but still effective.
When nothing else seems to work
One of the most common things people say after their first session is:
“I didn’t realize how much my body needed that.”
Not because the work is dramatic, but because it isn’t.
When the body is no longer being pushed, it often does more.
Booking
