Moonseed’s Signature Lymphatic Massage
A thoughtful approach to Lymphatic Drainage
One of the questions I hear from time to time is, "What kind of lymphatic drainage do you do?"
It's a reasonable question.
Over the years, Manual Lymphatic Drainage has expanded into many different approaches. Some trainings focus on clinical applications, others on cosmetic treatments, facial lymphatic drainage, post-surgical recovery, myofascial techniques, or wellness. Each has its own philosophy, terminology, and methods.
I've been fortunate to study many of them.
What I've discovered is that I'm less interested in what a particular technique is called than I am in what the woman on my table needs that day.
Over the years, I've completed clinical lymphatic drainage training, cosmetic-focused education, wellness-based approaches, myofascial lymphatic techniques, and continue to pursue advanced study because the lymphatic system is endlessly fascinating. Each training has expanded the way I observe the body and deepened my understanding of how different approaches may serve different people.
I don't see those methods as competing with one another.
I see them as tools.
The art is knowing when to use them.
The Body Doesn't Care What You Call It
Bodies are wonderfully complex.
A woman recovering from surgery may also be navigating hormonal changes.
Someone seeking facial lymphatic drainage may also be carrying years of tension through her abdomen and diaphragm.
Another may come in simply feeling swollen, heavy, or unlike herself after travel, stress, illness, or a particularly demanding season of life.
Rarely does a body arrive with only one story to tell.
That's why I don't believe every lymphatic session should look exactly the same.
Instead, I begin by asking a different question:
What does this body need today?
Looking Beyond the Obvious
One area I often find myself returning to is the abdomen.
The abdomen contains an incredible concentration of lymphatic tissue and plays an important role in breathing, digestion, movement, and the body's natural circulation of lymphatic fluid.
Thoughtful work through the abdomen can support the movement of surrounding tissues, encourage comfortable breathing patterns, and complement the rest of a lymphatic session in ways that often make sense for the individual in front of me.
That doesn't mean every session is identical.
It means I don't overlook an area simply because it isn't the reason someone booked.
Thoughtful Bodywork
Whether someone comes to Moonseed for post-surgical lymphatic drainage, facial swelling, inflammation, wellness support, or another concern, my goal is never to perform a memorized routine.
It's to observe.
To listen.
To assess.
To draw from years of experience, continuing education, and careful observation to create a session that reflects what yourbody needs that day.
That's true of every service I offer, but perhaps nowhere is it more evident than in Lymphatic Drainage.
Bodies change.
Needs change.
Seasons of life change.
The work should be able to change with them.
