Lymphatic Drainage Massage - What to Expect
Manual Lymphatic Drainage, or MLD, is a gentle, focused technique that supports your body’s natural ability to process and eliminate waste. Unlike traditional massage, MLD uses very light strokes to guide lymphatic fluid toward the body’s drainage points—your lymph nodes—so it can be processed and released.
Many people receive MLD to support general wellness, including:
Immune system function
Bloating or puffiness
Sluggish digestion
Hormonal balance
Detoxification
Chronic illness recovery
Post-surgical healing
What to Expect
During your session, you’ll lie face-up on the table, modestly covered at all times. You’ll be asked to remove tight clothing such as waistbands, bras, or compressive garments.
One of the most important areas of the body for lymphatic flow is the abdomen. Much of the work happens here, and gentle abdominal techniques are a big part of the session. While this work is strongly encouraged, you are always welcome to opt out.
I will guide you through your first session, explaining some of the techniques as we go. After that, sessions are typically quiet and calming so your nervous system can shift into rest and repair.
How Often Should I Receive MLD?
Once a month for general health and maintenance.
Every other week if you’re working on digestion, hormone balance, parasites, fatigue, or inflammation.
1–3 times a week for post-surgical healing and recovery.
Whether you come in monthly or more frequently, MLD is a gentle but powerful way to support your body’s inner systems.
